Drywall hole repair can be tricky. There’s all kinds of drywall repair in different places. There are small holes such as nail holes and drywall cracks in the there are large holes created by plumbers or electricians opening up the drywall to perform some electrical or plumbing work.
The most important thing to remember is you have to keep the repair flush with the rest of the wall or ceiling. If it’s a smaller hole that requires only a filling with drywall repair compound make sure that you leave a little above the surface of the drywall so you can sand the repair smooth with the drywall.
If you are replacing some drywall that the plumber or electrician had removed make sure you put in the piece of drywall flush with the rest of the drywall and make sure also that your screws or nails don’t protrude beyond the drywall surface otherwise your plaster will not smooth or properly.
